Netaly | The Belina | Beit Hanan
The kitchen, family home and hospitality meet here
Netaly describes the kitchen as the place where she finds calm and room to breathe among the preparation, aromas, flavours and details. She approaches hospitality in the same way: staying present and giving attention to every plate.
The family home in Beit Hanan was built in 1929 by Netaly's grandparents. She grew up alongside the family, agriculture and orchard, and founded The Belina here in 2022 to continue her grandfather Haim's legacy and share what comes from the land.
Another chapter began in 1982, when her grandparents travelled to Kenya to teach Israeli agricultural methods. Haim Ben Basat milked goats, and Netaly's grandmother made cheese with a recipe book she had received. The goats ate pineapple, which Netaly says gave the milk a delicate note of the fruit.
After returning to Israel, they established a dairy on the farm, and her grandfather became one of the country's early goat-cheese producers. Today Netaly cooks, bakes, designs and hosts around local produce and a changing weekly menu, then invites guests into the old home to hear the family story.
